San Francisco Chronicle Magazine, April 3, 2005YANK SING

Three generations of the Chan family have brought this restaurant to prominence, and even after 50 years it consistently boasts the best dim sum in the Bay Area. The large, well-appointed dining room seats 250, and on weekends the lobby at Rincon Center opens up to seat another 250; even then there's often a wait. Chef Helen Chan and her crew adeptly produce classic and innovative dishes; more expensive than other places, but the variety of dumplings is astounding. On any day, the carts are filled with 80 items that circulate through the handsome dining room and include individual orders of Peking duck. Yank Sing also has a smaller restaurant a few blocks away.
